Student Activities
BBSBEC students continue to make their mark in academic, sports & various extra-curricular activities at different levels, thus adding more to its long list of achievements. On the cultural side, our College team was runners-up at the inter-zonal youth festival of PTU held at Jalandhar. Our Students represented the PTU at inter-varsity youth festival held at Bala ji Sahu University, Kanpur and bagged the third prize at all India level in one-act play.
Again, a student of this institute Mr.Arunabh Bera participated at all-India Sir Syad Ahmed, memorial debate competition organized by Aligarh Muslim University on by 22-23 Feb 08. As many as 25 Universities from all across India participated in this prestigious parlimentary debate competition where our student represented the PTU, Jalandhar. It is a matter of pride that he stood third at all India level bringing laurels to both the college and the University.
Adding yet another feather to its cap, our college bhangra team came 1st at pratibha-08 held recently at GJ-IMT,Mohali.
On the other side, BBSBEC continues to play role in an awakening the masses against various social evils prevalent in our society.On March 8, International women’s day was celebrated in the college auditorium where some distinguished speakers including the college principal Dr.M.S.Grewal delivered valuable speeches, while over students performed some cultural events related to the day’s theme.On 17th March a prominent anti-foeticide punjabi musical play ‘Daairey’ written by Dr Satish Kumar Verma and directed by Mr. Pran Sabharwal was presented in the college auditorium aiming to sensitize people especially the youth against this dreaded evil through the medium of theatre.Commissioner Patiala division Mr. S.K Ahluwalia IAS was the guest of honour at this occasion. Besides, college Principal Dr. M.S Grewal also gave an enlightened talk.
BBSBEC Students continues to take active part in various Quiz/paper presentation competitions being held from time to time within & outside the state. Eight of our students recently participated in paper Presentation competition in a tech-fest Azzaro-08, held at Haryana.Engg.College, Jagadhri and won prizes. Students of college organized a function in the college auditorium on 2nd April to observe mother-tongue day where some known literary figures from the region expressed their concern over the issue.
