Visit Fatehgarh Sahib
Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib

To commemorate the martyrdom of younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh who were bricked alive in 1704 by Wazir Khan, the then Fauzdar of Sirhind, a magnificent Gurudwara has been constructed. This is the place where Sirhind fort was demolished by the forces of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in 1710. The historical wall where the younger sons were bricked alive has been preserved inside the Gurudwara and is called Bhora Sahib. Inside the same complex is Gurudwara Mata Gujri Ji. It was at this site where Mata Gujri (mother of Guru Gobind Singh Ji), and Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji (younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji) were kept in confinement in extreme winter. This Gurudwara is also called Thanda Burj.



Gurudwara Jyoti Sarup

This Gurudwara is about 1 Km from Fatehgarh Sahib on Sirhind- Chandigarh road. It was at this place that the mortal remains of Mata Gujri Ji, the mother of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his two younger sons, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Baba Zorawar Singh Ji were cremated. It is believed that Wazir Khan, the then Faujdar of Sirhind refused to allow the cremation of the bodies unless the gold coins (mohars) were given. Seth Todar Mal Ji, who was an ardent devotee of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, purchased this place of land by offering gold coins as demanded.



Gurudwara Shahid Ganj

It is situated just half a kilometer from Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib. It commemorates the martyrdom of those Sikhs who were killed by the tyrannical Mughals. It is believed that forty cartloads of heads of martyred Sikhs, were cremated.



Mata Shri Chakreshvari Devi Jain Temple

This ancient temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is devoted to Mata Shri Chakreshvari Devi. An annual function is held on 14th Moon day of Assu, i.e. 4th day after day after Dussehra, which is attended by large number of devotees. The festival opens on the night of 13th Moon day and closes on PURANMASHI.





Rauza Sharif

On the Sirhind-Bassi Pathana Road, near Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib is the magnificent RAUZA OR DARGAH of Shaikh Ahmad Faruqi Sirhindi, popularly known as Mujaddid, Alf-Isfani who lived in the times of Akbar and Jahangir from 1563 to 1624. The Shaikh is held in high esteem and is considered by Sunni Muslims to be second to prophet Mohammed. For this reason, this mausoleum is regarded as a second Macca by the Sunni Muslims. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from various parts of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and other Muslim countries visit this place to participate in the celebrations, known as Urs of Shaikh Ahmad Sirhindi.



Aam Khas Bagh

The Aam Khas Bagh was built for the public and also for exclusive use of the Emperor Shah Jahan. Both of them use to stay here while going to and coming back from Lahore. There were adequate number of places for the stay of Mughal Emperors.
A Tourist Complex known as 'MAULASARI' is being run. A beautiful garden and the nursery is being maintained.


Floating Restaurant

Floating Restaurant constructed over the Sirhind Canal is an important tourist spot run by Punjab Tourism Development Corp. It is at a distance of 5 KM. from Sirhind on the Sher Shah Suri Marg. It attracts a large no of tourists, especially during summer. It is a unique type of restaurant in whole of the Punjab. Built in the middle of the canal, it presents a picturesque view to the visitors.
